The long walk home

The beginning

First day of holidays. Lashing rain, thank God for playdough! Michael having a nap. Bless him. He'll need his energy for fishing through the night. I know this feeling of anti-climax knot in my stomach will go away, and in the meantime I will referee my fighting boys and listen to the sound of the rain lashing on the roof. Sigh.

This morning I was greeted by Cal waking Reuben to come and play with their Go-go's. This is 2 rare occurance in our house for them to get on at all, so this was a lovely start to our day.

Saul seems to see flowers everywhere

he goes, and he has to gather them!

He filled his own lunch box, and when I spied the

flowers inside, I was full of emotion and such delight.

he seems so sensitive and sees beauty everywhere.

He always wants to give flowers too. I hope he keeps

that quality well into adulthood. He'll keep some sweetheart happy!

Nearly holiday time....

We took a trip to Maynooth playground

last week, and as usual, there was never

enough time! Its a great playground that

caters for older children as well.

Teddy Bear's picnic

We headed to the zoo for a quick

visit for the Teddy Bear's Picnic.

It was an attempt to break the

World record of Teddies in one

place. They managed to get 6,448

on the day, but it was a long way off

the 1995 record of 33,000+++

We had fun anyway, and our boys

brought 27 bears among them.

The playground at the new Giraffe

enclosure was a big hit.

Busy busy weekend

On Sat we had a spontaneous visit to Siobhan

in Wicklow, and look how her rabbit has grown!

It seems now that Dad is the only cool, and

interesting parent in our house. He can answer

any question, it seems, and the timing is perfect!
