This morning we had lots of time! I realise we'll have to be super efficient these mornings to have everyone dressed, fed, clean, ready and happy and down to the road by 8.15 am! It amazes me that when we walk down, it seems like we are the only ones awake but by the time I'm walking back with Saul, its like a hive of activity!

Home work time....
Cal is doing a Family Tree project. Siblings, parents, grandparents and great grandparents. I adore this kind of project, and it was so lovely to talk to my dad and get dates of birth and deaths of my grand parents. It gave me such a sense of perspective. Another part of his project was to interview one of these on the Family Tree and he chose my Dad. He had to record a historical moment, and Dad talked of being a Guard on duty during the Papal visit and the wonderful peace and respect people had no that occasion. He was also a Presidential Guard from the time of De Velera up to Mary Robinson's time, and was on duty at the time of JFK's visit. Cal was very impressed. If he had chosen Mum, I wonder if her historical moment would have been meeting Mother Teresa in Calcutta. That occasioni was a historical moment in my life in 1994.
Aubrey's first day to get the school bus
Reuben walked with him and held his hand and we watched helplessly as we watched the bus arrive. We had to run and I had no time to prepare him or say a proper goodbye. He had been so tired as I woke him up before he was ready and he was really reluctant to go to school at all. So there he was, jumping on to the bus and he sat with Cal and it felt so awful. For me anyway. I was left with that feeling all day until I collected him and he bounded out as happy as could be. What was I worrying about?!

Wonderful Medieval Weekend
We spent the weekend in Wicklow at a fabulous birthday celebration. Arriving on Friday night to a Bar-B-Que, and lots of wine and Mead. A late night followed, and an early morning with little kids in tow! We headed for Glendalough and had a champagne picnic and a little photo shoot of those in costume. Some were brave enough to stay in character all weekend. Well done Cal and Siobhan! And then we headed back for our traditional Medieval Banquet. I've had to abandon the celebrations to tend to the same little ones who just couldn't keep the pace. Please look through the older posts so you can see all the images. Happy Birthday Siobhan, and thanks for a wonderful and unique party. Way to go girl!
