Weekend of Madness

This is Michael chatting to Saul on Saul's Phone feet!

Daisy at home without her Mum, eating dry Weetabix!

The buns Tara made with Rose...

The Soup we made for the occasion....

There were so many changes of plan this weekend, and I seemed to spend most of my days organising our boys toys. Such an enormous task, but I completed it. How long my organising will last is another question, but at least I got some weird satisfaction in seeing boxes of Lego, Bionicles, Knights and Soldiers, cuddly toys, Dinosaurs, every other animal imagineable etc, lined up neatly in their own see through box with a lid..... I think I need a social life!

For Sunday we had a plan to do some scrapbooking with lots of kids. My friend's Tia and Morganna came with their daughter's, and I had our four boys and borrowed my niece for the occasion. It was wonderful to see them create their own pages of photographs and words, and to see what was important to them. It was chaos too..... And I forgot to photograph them, or their work, and now it is all stacked neatly in more plastic boxes with lids, and I cannot even begin to think about taking it all back out again. we have some random photos of the day though.....

Watermelon Boy

Saul managed to eat an entire Watermelon!

One Funny boy

Saul, 3, has been coming out with some really funny things lately and mornings seem to be his best!

We lay in bed this morning going through the alphabet. I was saying that C is for Cal, M is for Michael, R is for Reuben. He became so cross, and said 'Im going to sleep somewhere else, 'cause you are stealing my letters for everyone else'! I laughed.... He didn't come back though....

Another morning, he woke up at 7.30 and said, 'I'm going to go and sleep with the dog.', and off he went. Within minutes he called me, cross because the dog wouldn't go to sleep, would I come down and make her close her eyes!!!

And just now, he asked me for a banana with jam and no cutting on it.

Mid term fun...

Today we met up with some friends and headed for Lucan playground. The weather was strangely warm... Glorious, and hard to believe that 10 days ago we had snow!

Happy Valentine's Day

So weird, and so lovely, but Michael and I exchanged Valentine Cards today and his was of a heart drawn in the sand and mine is a photo I took of a heart drawn in the snow.

A lovely co-incidence....

I'm really enjoying playing around with my new phone. Taking a minute in the morning on the walk to the bus with the boys. Its often so cold at that hour, but its lovely to get out in the fresh air. A lovely start to the day .

New Phone, trying out camera!!!

Up Up And Away

Oh to be so free..... I used to walk the
fields behind our house when I was a
child and look up at the blackberries
out of my reach and I could imagine
flying like a bird with every part of
my body.
I also remember having a wavin pipe that
'was my horse'! I truly believed it...... I would
gallop around the garden on it, and jump
obstacles and have my own personal score.
I know they were real as there was a gang of
us with such horses. Ha.

Tia's Talent

Tia has made the most beautiful gifts over the years, and now, she has someone who adores everything she makes..... her Godson Saul. And Tara.......

More Snowy Fun

While it is burning up in Australia, we have it so cold! Mum and Dad, Kevin, Lucy and boys are in Melbourne and Kevin sent photos of the nearby smoke. Scary to look at. Glad all our relatives are safe and well. These photos are such a contrast to the heat. Fingers on little boys burning with the cold.....

Yesterday's walk to playschool

A day off school

My boys were so thrilled today when they woke to more snow and I had decided not to send them to school. Who knows when it will snow again in Ireland, and the happiness in their cold faces was enough to erase the guilt I felt giving them a day off. They are already scheming and planning how they will wing it again for tomorrow!!!
